Garmin G3X Touch Software Version 8.20 Released with Enhanced Engine Monitoring
Update adds lean-assist improvements, fuel flow totalizer refinements, and new EIS page layouts
Garmin has released software version 8.20 for the G3X Touch flight display system, delivering improvements to the engine information system (EIS) pages, lean-assist functionality, and fuel flow totalizer accuracy. The update is available as a free download for all G3X Touch installations.
The updated lean-assist feature now provides a graphical bar display showing EGT deviation from peak for each cylinder during the leaning process. This replaces the previous numerical-only display and gives pilots a more intuitive view of engine operation during mixture adjustment.
Fuel flow totalizer calculations have been refined to improve accuracy during low-flow taxi and descent operations. The new algorithm reduces cumulative drift over long flights, keeping fuel remaining estimates within tighter tolerances.
Roger Wilco Aviation Services can perform the software update during your next scheduled maintenance visit or as a standalone service call. The update typically takes 30 to 45 minutes and includes verification of all display and sensor functions.
